I hate Burda patterns but I love the way this skirt turned out. Where is this pattern company from? Their instructions are ridiculous (ie: "neaten lower edges"). This is Burda #8176. Lisa picked the fabric from Hart's in Santa Cruz last summer. A very colorful Brenda Starr like comic strip motif. And it looks great on her. Notice how it sits 5 inches below her belly button. Oh, to be 15.
I finally conquered my nemesis--invisible zippers. What a pain. But I found a great tutorial on the pins and needles blog that really helped. She's pretty clever. The key is to not sew the side seam until after the zipper is inserted.
Reading Bel Canto by Ann Patchett. Not what I expected but I'm really enjoying it.
Great skirt!! Such talent.
I lived in Santa Cruz for 30 years and have shopped at Hart's Fabrics since 1974. So nice to see this :)
